Medisoft Version 17

Medisoft LogoMEDISOFT VERSION 17 AND ANSI 5010 CLAIMS

Electronic claims are about to undergo major changes starting next year. Transactions processed by clearinghouses and payors alike are mandated to be in the new ANSI 5010 format. This format also includes changes to ERAs, Eligibility, and Referral transactions.

To meet the ANSI 5010 requirements Medisoft has added more than twenty new data fields to the next version. These fields currently don’t exist in any practice management system.  To allow adequate time for testing, avoid claim rejections and cash flow disruptions the ANSI 5010 compliant version of Medisoft (version 17) will be released in December 2010.

Why is this important to you? Remember the disruptions you experienced during the NPI transition – that was only a four field change – ANSI 5010 is much bigger. It is also a major step toward ICD-10.
