LSI will transition your current patient management system to Medisoft!

Conversion into MediSoft is a long and involved process. We know, from long experience at this, that a novice attempt, even by someone with programming experience, would require 40 hours or more to get it right. Conversion requires filling in properly all those MediSoft defaults, not simply filling in names and addresses. Then there is the issue of data formatting: names need to be LAST, FIRST; chart numbers must be invented (and cannot be duplicated!), address lines cannot exceed proper length, phone numbers must contain no dashes, and on and on and on! MediSoft patient file alone has 132 fields!

Longwood Systems, Inc. has converted data into MediSoft from dozens of other patient accounting systems, and can most probably convert yours as well. Prices are quoted on a case-by-case basis, because the work and time involved depend on the age, quality and type of computer on which your data resides, as well as accessibility to your system (or your office), the present format, and other factors. The price for converting patient demographic information (not including ledgers, codes, fee schedules, appointments, medical records, etc.) is typically about $4000, after we obtain your data in the proper format, on the proper media. This does not include subsequent training in the use of MediSoft; we strongly advise having a special training session with one of our trainers for review of the system and data storage changes you may encounter.

The Process

The process of conversion begins with one of our technicians (or a local technician we mutually agree is satisfactory) visiting your site to obtain an electronic copy of the data to be converted. Tape backups of raw data are not acceptable. Typically, this technician will need to be on site anywhere from an hour to several hours, depending on the speed of your system and the cooperation and ability of your staff. If properly scheduled in advance, we should be able to supply the converted data within a few days of our receipt of your data. We require a deposit of 50% upon commencement for all conversions, the balance due upon delivery.

Patient Demographic Data

The "fields" of patient data normally converted are: Account Number, Patient Full Name, Address, Telephone numbers, Date of Birth, Sex, Marital, SS#, Patient Responsible (Y/N), Accept Assignment, Signature on file, Assigned Provider (Which doctor), Primary Insured Party, Relationship, Referring Physician and UPIN, Last (or permanent) Diagnoses (Maximum 4); Insurance Carrier Names (up to 3 per patient), Amount of co-pay (if any).

Ledgers

We will be happy to provide a quotation for conversion of ledgers, after a brief study of several of your most comprehensive ledgers (printed out and accompanied by full explanation in writing, in case these ledgers are not readily understandable by a medical bookkeeper). However, because your present system is likely to have a very different accounting methodology, and is unlikely to be as precise as MediSoft's, we advise that you keep a second set of MediSoft data to keep those ledgers separate from your new database. This will ensure that your future accounting is up to par.
